Firstly, I want to apologise for the delay in writing this blog post. I have been holding fire because I wanted to announce the details of my boot camp in my next blog and finally, I can give you all the awesomeness that my boot camp will entail!
When does it start?
Boot camp starts on Monday March 12th and will run for 12 weeks.
Where is will it be held?
Long Stratton High School
What does it include?
2 fitness sessions a week with me. One on a Monday from 7-7:45pm and one on a Wednesday from 7:30- 8:15pm
A weekly home workout to be completed if you wish to do so (20 minutes)
An individual nutrition plan reviewed every 4 weeks
Private members facebook group
Access to me throughout the 12 week boot camp
This is the million dollar question! Why should you join MY boot camp?
Well firstly (again….or should it be secondly?) I was a 16 stone obese man myself (some of you may of seen the pictures) so I know what I feels like to be out of shape. I was unhealthy, I felt sluggish, I lacked any drive or motivation and in all honesty was putting my health at risk. I knew I had to do something to stop this from happening.
I started my journey in March 2017 with the goal of hitting my target weight of 13 stone 7 by the time I went on our family holiday in August. If I am honest, when I started I wasn’t sure if it was possible. However, I was consistent with my approach to exercise and making better food choices. I started doing workouts at home with my wife in our living room and at times on my own in the bedroom. I started working out at home because at the time the gym for me was a place I feared. As I noticed my body change and the numbers on the scales dropping I became more confident, I needed to buy new clothes. This made me feel amazing. I felt good enough within my self to go to the gym. I started off by doing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) classes. These suited me perfectly as they lasted between 30-45 minutes and meant I could be in and out of the gym.
As my training progressed, I hired a personal trainer to write me a 4 week training program which we reviewed and changed as my body composition changed. By June I was enjoying the positive changes to my lifestyle. I felt great both physically and mentally. My training and nutrition by this point was part of my life. Our family holiday came and I had achieved something I didn’t think was possible. Not only had I reached my target weight but smashed it as I weighed 12 stone 10!! That was the best part of 3 and a half stone lost in 5 months. Needless to say I felt proud of what I had achieved. People ask was it easy? No, it wasn't. I worked very hard when I worked out and keeping an eye on my food was rather tricky to start with. It took me a while to learn how to be consistent and to get myself in a routine. Both my wife and I worked very hard, but our progress wasn't equal. It is important that each person and their body is different and it takes patience and persistence in getting the results that you want. All I will say is when your WHY (as in WHY you started) is greater than your excuses you can achieve anything you want.
Off the back of my own journey I have developed a passion for fitness, nutrition and well being. I now want to help people just like you and me to feel and look great . My aim is to help you change your lifestyle so you can become a better version of yourselves and enjoy a healthy active lifestyle. It takes 21 days for something to become a habit, it takes 90 days for something to become a lifestyle. I am pleased to be in a position where I can give people everything they need to live healthier lifestyles.
